Natty Caps- Dreadlock Shower Caps

(To learn more about what Natty Caps are, scroll down.)

WHAT IS A NATTY CAP?
A Natty Cap is a Dreadlock Shower Cap that I have created. They are specifically for people who can no longer fit into regular shower caps. You don't have to have dreadlocks to buy them; they are for anyone who can no longer fit into the standard sized shower caps, (this includes the so called "large" shower caps that they sell in the stores). For now, they are available in two sizes: Regular and Large. Regular is for people who are just past fitting the standard shower cap to where their hair is about a foot past their lower back. The large (for now) is for people who's hair is from the beginning of their legs on down. This is what the size description will remain until I get some feedback from my patrons.

HOW TO PUT ON A NATTY CAP
I strongly suggest that you put it on hair first. Bend over toward the front, grab your hair and stuff it in the cap, then stand upright and adjust your hair into the cap as necessary, being sure not to suffocate while doing this (after all, it is a plastic bag). Then just squeeze the air out and you are good to go. When I am able, I will  have a demonstration video put up.

HOW TO CLEAN YOUR NATTY CAP
Turn the Natty Cap inside out and gently wash it with soap and water. Rinse thoroughly and let dry. It would be best to do this when you know you won't need it for the rest of the day so that it can dry.

WHAT ARE NATTY CAPS MADE FROM?
Recycled Plastic and Elastic.

THE CREATION OF NATTY CAPS
For years I have been taking showers and getting my hair wet and being very frustrated about this. Anyone with dreadlocks knows that when your hair is constantly wet there are a lot of troublesome things that you have to deal with: a heavy, wet head; wet clothes; etc. I was sick and tired of having a wet head all of the time and not being able to fully enjoy my showers. I finally decided to go to the store and see if ANYONE had an extra long shower cap. There was only one...and it was too small. Fact of the matter is, even though there are a lot of people with dreadlocks, we are not all concentrated in one area and mass produced, store sold items are geared toward the masses in any given area. I went home and said to myself, "I am not going to take this anymore and I am too cute to be showering with a grocery bag on my head". I then continued, "I am going to see if I can sew one". I did have some concerns but I figured, what the heck, right? I am not a seamstress by any real definition but I know what I can do, and that is sew a rectangle and that was all I needed to do. I had never worked with elastic before but I figured it couldn't be that bad. I got some recycled plastic and got to work. I sewed it up, took a shower and came out with DRY hair!
The First Natty Cap:

It was GREAT. Only problem was that it was TOO big. So I experimented about 3 times before I finally came up with the sizes I presently have.

WARNINGS!
Please do not suffocate while putting it on. If you flip it upside down you could just as well use it as a mini plastic bag, so the same rules apply. And Please...DO NOT let your children play with it. Natty Caps are not toys and misuse of them can lead to suffocation.

WHERE CAN I BUY A NATTY CAP?

WHAT IF  I HAVE SUGGESTIONS OR CONCERNS?
I am very open to suggestions. So far I am the only person who has tried this product so I am very understanding of the fact that there will be some trial and error and I am more than happy to work with your specific situations. If you have ideas on how I could improve my product please leave a comment or email me at kahea2018@yahoo.com. Please make sure that you are clear in the subject bar that you are contacting me about Natty Caps, that way I don't assume it's spam. If you have a specific need, (like extra, extra, extra long hair)...then just let me know and I will see what I can sew up for you. I am not going to make promises about the prices, but for now, if it is an individual thing and you just need one sewn for you that is a little larger, I will be more than glad to do that for the same cost as the regular ones, but the shipping costs might be different, as I will be shipping them directly to you, as opposed to you ordering them from my online store which is run by District Lines.

PICTURES IN YOUR NATTY CAP?
PLEASE! Send them in and as long as they are appropriate, I will post them on the site under C-Pics. You can take a picture in your regular clothes or in a towel but please, no nude pics in the shower cap. Thank you.
